Learning beyond books
BGS Public School is delighted to share the achievement of Krishang Mahesh Raju, who participated in the Naanu Vignani Telescope-Making Workshop organized by the Karnataka State Science Resource Centre (KSSRC) at Doddaballapur.
During this intensive nine-day program, his team mastered every stage of telescope construction — from glass grinding, fine grinding, and polishing to shaping their own concave mirror, which was later coated at ISRO. They also designed and assembled the mounts, optical tube, and finder scope entirely by hand using simple tools.
Through dedication, precision, and teamwork, the group successfully set four records in telescope making, showcasing exceptional scientific curiosity and craftsmanship.
This remarkable accomplishment reflects the spirit of innovation, perseverance, and hands-on learning that BGS Public School strives to inspire its students.
